Consumers Willing to Pay More for Quiet Appliances

Thompson T.

Dishwashers were the appliance that worried consumers the most, with 68 percent of consumers reporting that sound reduction was an “extremely important” feature of a dishwasher and 94 percent reporting that sound reduction was either extremely, very, or somewhat important.

The researchers also found that consumers are willing to pay a premium for quiet appliances, with 87 percent of individuals surveyed reporting that they would gladly pay more to reduce noise from their dishwasher or washing machine.

If you are in a similar situation as the 29 per cent of dishwasher owners and 18 per cent of washing machine owners surveyed who said that they are not satisfied with the noise level of their current appliances, you may not necessarily need to buy a new appliance to solve your problem. Instead, try appliance repair.

As appliances age, many different issues can crop up that cause them to generate excessive noise. In the case of a washing machine or a dishwasher, the problem could even be operator error rather than any problem with the unit itself—if you overload your appliance dishes may bang together during the wash cycle or clothes may become clumped together and unbalance the drum during the spin cycle.

Let the experts from Authorized Appliance Repair take a look at your noisy appliance and see if we can silence it with a simple repair. Some possible fixes we would provide include:

  • Leveling appliances
  • Cleaning dryer blower wheels
  • Replacing drum spindle and/or rollers on washers and dryers
  • Cleaning drains and filters
  • Fixing misfiring heating units
  • Installing soundproofing around a built-in dishwasher

In addition to reducing noise, appliance repair can also make your appliance perform better, often while using less energy. At Authorized Appliance Repair, we have many years of experience working on all kinds and brands of appliances, and our technicians have the skills and expertise required to correctly diagnose your appliance problem and provide a cost-effective solution. You can rely on us to tell you honestly whether appliance repair can reduce noise significantly or whether you really would be better off with a new appliance with specific noise-reduction features.
