If you want to clean an oven without heavy scrubbing, don’t resort to self-cleaning. Self-cleaning heats the oven to such a high temperature that it essentially burns off any food or grease that may be on the oven walls. This will leave your oven clean, but it can also damage the oven’s finish, shorten its lifespan, damage internal parts, and can even make it so your oven is not heating evenly.
Baking soda and vinegar: This is a classic cleaning duo that can be used on many different surfaces. Make a paste out of baking soda and water, to apply to any areas that need cleaning. Then make a spray of equal parts vinegar and water and keep it separate until you’re ready to clean.
Natural store-bought cleaner: If you don’t want to make your own oven cleaner, you can purchase a natural store-bought cleaner. Look for one that is non-toxic and free of harsh chemicals.
Once you’ve decided on a cleaning solution, follow these steps to clean your oven quickly:
1. Apply your baking soda mixture or cleaner to the dirty areas of your oven.
2. If you’re using baking soda and vinegar, it’s time to spray the vinegar solution and let the two ingredients foam up.
3. Let it sit for a few minutes for lighter stains or for heaving buildup, you can also leave this solution on overnight. (For store-bought cleaner, leave it on as long as instructed).
4. Wipe your oven out with a clean rag and clean water.
5. For more stubborn stains, you can give your oven a bit of scrub using a non-abrasive scrubber before you clean with the rag and water.
The inside of your oven door can be cleaned using any of the cleaning solutions mentioned above. Simply apply the solution to the dirty areas and wipe them away with a damp cloth, and scrub any heavier gunk with a non-abrasive cleaner.
For the outside of the oven door, you can use a glass cleaner. Spray the door with the glass cleaner and wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth. If your oven is stainless steel, use a stainless steel cleaner and polish for an extra shine on the rest of the oven.

Oven racks can be removed and cleaned in the sink with hot soapy water. Let the oven racks soak for a few minutes before scrubbing them clean.
If you don’t have time to or are unable to remove the oven racks, you can still clean them in the oven. First, cover the bottom of the oven with foil. This will catch any drips from the cleaning solution. Then, spray them with your cleaning solution. Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing them clean.
