You love your glass stovetop but you are afraid to use too much elbow grease to get it clean. We know that it can seem fragile – and it is. But there are tips that can help you effectively clean your glass stovetop more easily than you think.
First and foremost, wait until your cooktop has cooled down and then use a soft cloth to wipe off the large food particles and liquids that come off easily. While you do need to wait for it to no longer be hot, you want to get to it as soon as possible after that to prevent food and liquids from sticking.
Once you have gotten rid of larger pieces of food and liquids, take some time to gather the cleaning supplies you need. We recommend a microfiber cloth, dish sponge, baking soda, rubber gloves, a bowl of hot water with dish soap mixed in, and dry cloths. Then put the clean cloths into the hot water with dish soap and let them soak. While they are asking, you can grab your baking soda and sprinkle the top of the glass stovetop.
Once the cloths have had a chance to soak, take them out and wring about half of the liquid out. Then unfold each one of them and place it right on top of the stovetop. Let the hot water, cloths, and baking soda work their magic for 15 minutes. If you have a very messy stovetop then you may want to let it sit for half an hour.
After you havewaited the appropriate amount of time, remove the rags from yourstovetop . Then wipe away the baking soda and particles. Theeasiest way to do this is to start at the top of your stovetop andmove down. Then grab your sponge and wipe away any remaining debris.Use another dry towel to get rid of moisture.
It may be that your stovetop is netputs dirty – it’s old. Even if you keep it as clean as you can and clean it deeply every week, eventually it will begin to showings of wear and tear. This can be a sign that it is time to replacethe entire unit.
